"Occasionally what you
have to do is go back to the beginning, remember the lessons and see
everything from a new perspective. This is what I did for this body of work
on exhibition. Even after years of experience, a degree of uncertainty still lingers during the making, and particularly, the firing process. Over the years I have felt heartbreak as well as great joy and it is this that fires the desire and passion to work with clay. For me, this work is all about purity and simplicity; fine lines and a sense of balance. Working with clay, remembering the lessons and using traditional chun, copper red, tenmoku and celadon glazes ‘handed down’ many years ago. It is designed to be touched and lived with.”
