"The elongated pod type forms that I am presently exploring have many references.   They are known in local dialect as a ‘coolamon’ a vessel once used for gathering of foods here on the coast by local indigenous people.

The pod is also a house protecting seeds of fertility.  Seeds contain nourishment to mankind and the environment.  The elongated vessel canoe, tinnie, boat is also used to aid in the gathering of food and to transport people safely over water.

I see these vessels pertaining to the essence and existence of man kind.  Without the seed there is no life, without life there are no seeds.  Without the environment in which the seed can be nurtured there is no life.

On close examination, imperfections and irregularities obtained through sprigging and layering of various glazes form part of the life and spirit of each piece."
