After running Hungry Head Pottery for more years than they can remember it was good to take a break and concentrate on making a new home and finding new inspiration for their work.

They are still producing on a smaller scale of production, some of the range of what is known as “The Africa Pots “ with their porcelain sprigged African wildlife scenes on cobalt and dry iron glazes with gold trims.

May's colourful Lady cups with brush worked pretty faces on Majolica style tin glazed porcelain are pieces that everyone loves. So they have continued in their range of work.

David's new work is focused on more sculptural pieces for garden ornaments, water features and fountains with whimsical characters perched on the backs of tortoises, mermaids in rock pools and a thread of humour to the subjects of his pieces.

All David and May's ceramic pieces are high fired to 1300 c. using their own glazes and a variety of stoneware clay bodies.
